Our Story

Meet Charity and her baby Precious…the inspiration behind the opening of Anchor Love Mission home

After seeking refuge from abandonment and poverty, this young mother and her baby found safety and support at Anchor Love Mission. During their time with us, they experienced healing, stability, and meaningful growth, rebuilding their lives and stepping into a new beginning filled with hope.

OUR BEGINNING

After many years of community care led by our founder Agnes, a new chapter began in April 2021 with the opening of a tiny two room building and just a few women and children. Charity and Precious were the first mother and baby to move in, followed soon after by many other young mothers and their children.

We quickly began to see the need grow. Soon, five children in need of school sponsorship joined the mission, and the number of women and children coming for support continued to increase each month.

To help provide stability and opportunity, we hired a sewing instructor and invested in several sewing machines, launching a tailoring program to teach women practical skills while also providing daily devotions, prayer, counseling, and medical care.

The mission quickly became a place of hope in the community, and more families began coming for support. We rented an additional room, but quickly outgrew that space as well.

In April 2022, we moved into a much larger mission home on a gated property, providing a safe place for children to play and refuge for victims of domestic violence, refugees from war torn countries, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

After a very challenging two year process, the mission was officially certified as a non-governmental organization (NGO). By the fall of that year, a leadership team was formed to help support the growing needs of more than 100 women and children.

TODAY

Anchor Love Mission serves more than 100 women and children on average every month through the mission home, education sponsorships, vocational training, and community outreach.

What began with a small group of women and children has grown into a place of refuge, restoration, and opportunity for families in need.
